May 22nd marks Kyodo’s second anniversary! Crazy how time flies.
It still feels unbelievable to look back at how far Kyodo has come since the first idea for it was born back in the stone ages of 2024. So much has changed since then- So many memories made, so many new faces have joined us along the way.
It has now been two months since V2 was released, and even after all this time you continue to set new records, build amazing communities, and create incredible things on Kyodo. What initially started as a small hobby project we made for funsies, practice, and a little bit of hope has somehow grown into this big, flourishing community filled with some of the most creative, passionate, and wonderful people we have ever met.
Pretending we saw any of this coming would be the biggest lie ever..
Thank you for believing in Kyodo. We seriously can't say this enough.. Thank you for trusting us, for being patient with us, and for giving this little app so much love over the past two years. We truly could not have made it here without you.
To celebrate this massive milestone, we’re looking back at everything you’ve created and kicking off our 2 year anniversary event 💃
Two Years Worth of Receipts!!
Reading some of these numbers still feels surreal. I jokingly asked a few friends of mine to guess what they thought each number would be, and safe to say you completely crushed every expectation we ever had.
Chatting is one of Kyodo's core features, and you have had nothing short of endless conversations it seems- As of writing this, there have been 150 MILLION MESSAGES sent on Kyodo. That is an insane number to even think about! You have messaged in dozens of languages from every corner of the world.
From over 35,000 circles, you have also proven just how much you love writing, sharing, and creating. There have been 3.5 million posts made about all kinds of topics, fandoms, interests, and pieces of your worlds and AUs.
Speaking of AUs, you also really, really love your OCs. Personas were one of Kyodo’s earliest features, and you have created 175K of them!! That is over half the number of wiki entries on Fandom, which is genuinely impressive.
For two years, you have used Kyodo to connect with like-minded people from all over the world. 185+ countries have found their way here. We have covered most of earth! Bringing people together no matter where they are was one of our biggest hopes from the very beginning. It is the reason Kyodo exists at all and how our team met.
Naturally, some countries have shown up a little more than others. Kyodo’s biggest userbase is from Brazil! followed closely by the United States, Mexico, Argentina, Spain, France, Germany, and the United Kingdom.
Again, these numbers are unbelievable. We have practically just started, and you have already filled this community with so much love, creativity, and conversations. We hope we can live up to everything you have put into making Kyodo feel like home. ❤️

Kyodo Cat’s Birthday Bash

To celebrate this milestone, we’re also running a new community event with some cosmetic goodies! The event will include two activities, and participants only need to complete at least one activity to earn the exclusive event frame.
The event is live now and runs through Kyodo’s birthday on May 22nd!
Activity 1: Birthday Bash Style!
For this activity, participants will use the Kyodo Cat template to dress Kyodo Cat up in style for its 2nd birthday!
You can use PNGs from the internet, or hand-draw clothing directly onto the template. At minimum, Kyodo Cat must be wearing a birthday hat and at least one other piece of clothing.
The best entries will be featured on our social media, and the top 10 entries will receive an exclusive bubble. There will be a separate form for anyone who wants to participate in the social media challenge!
Activity 2: Birthday Bash Gifts
For this activity, participants will receive a birthday card template where they can write or type a birthday message to our dear Kyodo Cat.

None of This Would've Ever Happened Without You
Before Kyodo was an app with millions of posts and messages, thousands of circles and people from all across the globe, it was just a small idea a few friends and I had. Something we essentially just hoped woulld help someone find their people and make friends. A place where people could gather, create, roleplay, chat, and feel a little less alone.
Then the stars aligned a little, and y'all turned it into something much, much bigger. You took what we expected to be an empty ghost town by now its life and soul. Suddenly, our little loft was full of people, stories, creations, friendships, and moments.
To say we're grateful would be such an understatement. You choosing to spend even a small part of your day with us is something we will eternally cherish.
These past two years weren't exactly perfect. We've made mistakes, learned a ton, rebuilt things from scratch, broken things, fixed things, and kept trying our best to make Kyodo worthy of the community growing inside of it. Your patience and support have meant more than we can ever properly fit into a sentence in a blog post TwT
So from the bottom of our hearts- thank you. for taking part in this journey with us, for sticking around when things got a bit bumpy, through V1, V2, and everything in between. For giving us a chance and making Kyodo feel alive.
We're two years into this, two months into V2, and we've got a heck ton more to come.
Here's to a hundred more years, not joking when I say we can do this for an eternity.
